Sunday in Brooklyn: The Pancakes That Launched a Thousand Brunches
If New York brunch has a monument, it is a stack of malted pancakes under hazelnut maple praline and molten brown butter. Sunday in Brooklyn built its Williamsburg reputation one Sunday at a time — then made the feeling permanent by serving that Sunday ease seven days a week, morning through dinner.
The Concept
The restaurant arrived in 2016 as the flagship of Sunday Hospitality, founded by Todd Enany, Adam Landsman and chef Jaime Young — an Atera alum who traded tasting-menu formality for seasonal cooking with fine-dining bones. The name is the brief: an all-day neighborhood restaurant where every visit feels like the easiest day of the week. The idea traveled well enough to open a London sibling.
What to Order
The Sunday Pancakes are non-negotiable — chef Young modeled them on the cartoon-perfect pancakes of his childhood, and they appear at brunch and again as dessert. Beyond them: the pecan sticky bun, an egg-and-sausage sandwich that eats like a breakfast burger, grain bowls and avocado toast for balance, and wood-fired pita with hummus or spinach-artichoke butter. Dinner turns to the hearth and the Sunday Burger; the cocktail list stays playful with a mezcal Bloody Mary and a mezcal espresso martini.
The Space
Warm and light-drenched: exposed beams, marble tabletops, a wood-burning oven perfuming the room, vintage floral china on the table. The enclosed garden is the daytime prize, and a rooftop garden with a fireplace hosts golden-hour gatherings.
Who It’s For
Brunch pilgrims, birthday breakfasts, parents visiting from out of town and couples who like their romance sunlit. It is the rare famous brunch spot that is just as good at dinner.
Good to Know
How do I get a table at brunch? Reserve via Resy or come at opening; because brunch runs daily, weekdays are far gentler than weekends.
What if I don’t eat meat? The pita line, grain bowl, avocado toast, salads and the pancakes keep vegetarians very well fed.
Is there outdoor seating? Yes — an enclosed garden, plus a rooftop garden with a fireplace used for events.
Can it host a celebration? Yes, private events scale from intimate dinners to receptions for more than a hundred guests.
Can I get it to go? Yes — the restaurant runs its own to-go ordering, pancakes included.

I didn't like the pancakes. They were a bit dense for me. I also didn't like the sausage (pork or chicken). It seemed to have no flavour. The menu has plenty of interesting dishes. My boyfriend ordered the s'mores latte.…
